What the heck happened to Emo Blog

I set this Emo Blog up back in June of 2011 and haven’t checked it out lately and BAM!! I got slammed with over 7,000 comments and 99.99% is all spam.

I was working on my other websites and never set this one up to moderate the comment section to be approved first before a posting is posted.

Now i have to go look at every one of the comments and delete the not so good comments.I saw some porno sites posting things and hundreds of advertisers advertising all sorts of unrelated stuff as far as Emo Blog stuff goes.

Well i’m off to turn off auto commenting and will moderate that sections more closely.

If you have a blog question or comment,I’ll approve it with no problems.

EMO – A Global Phenomenom

From it’s very early days when emo was better known as emotional hardcore or emocore. Emo had been characterized by its melodic music and expressive and confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid 1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington D.C., and pioneer bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace gave emo a blended effect of pop punk and indie rock. This music was later encapsulated by emo groups like Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate.

By the turn of the century, emo culture had made its mark and broke into mainstream culture with platinum selling success of Jimmy Eat World and Dashboard Confessional. Screamo emerged as one of the subcultures of emo culture. The word emo later on was signified to a particular relation between fans and artists, and to describe fashion, culture and behavior.

With more and more emo acts getting up on the Billboard charts, emo trend was beginning to spread across like a wild fire. It slowly developed into an attitude, where an individual needs to be true to oneself and to believe in what they are doing. Emo music brought out their feelings like personal problems, unemployment, contemporary issues in the society and teen angst and alienation.

Today emo is commonly tied to both music and fashion. Among teens, emo is usually stereotyped with wearing skinny and torn jeans, short-sleeved tight T-shirts with bright colors, studded belts and black wristbands. Skate shoes also known as Vans are also quite popular with emo culture. Emo fashion is recognized for its hairstyle. Long side-swept bangs covering one or both eyes and colored with bright colors like pink, blue, red or bleached blond to make sure that they stand out of the crowd. Short, choppy layers of hair are also common in emo culture.

Emo culture has widely spread into different parts of the world like UK, Russia, Mexico and other parts of Europe too. However, recently they are look down upon in many countries as messengers of death. As emo culture talks about depression and alienation, it has been criticized that emo culture and music romanticizes death, which leads to suicide and self-mutilation cases. Russia is already working on a legislation that will make it illegal to be an emo in their country. However, it was protested by a mass of emo kids and by Russian emo band MAIO. A similar wave of violence was witnessed in Mexico City, where a group of people attacked emo kids because they didn’t like their attitude and music. Chile also broadcast news about assault on emos by skinheads who were frustrated by their saddening music and culture. 1980 should be marked as the year of birth for a genre of music that stemmed out from the hardcore punk music scene in Washington, D.C. Gradually with time the term emo has changed and now it is understood to mean “rock music with emotionally-based lyrics or effect,” and also often refers to a person’s fashion, personality, and other perspectives of life, together
with music genre.

If you want to get in touch with your inner emo, you need to understand what emo is? Though definition varies from person to person but it is loosely associated with emotionally charged punk rock. Modern ‘emo’ music is more of a branch off from what it started out as. It is a great come back for emo music in the world of entertainment carrying emotional lyrics. Listen to emo music and find out if you liked it or not. If you like it then you fall under the emo group. You can also make your own emo songs.

Next point to be emphasized to become emo is to change your outlook. Try shopping for a new

wardrobe.Wear pencil tight jeans, tight shirts with emo band logos on them, studded belts, and an old, black and worn down pair of Chuck Taylor Converse or Vans or you can also go for stripes and checkers together with thick, black-rimmed glasses for your eyes. Change your hairstyle also. Dye it black with perhaps some blond or unnatural colored streaks, especially in the bangs.

It is true that we all want to be noticed for our individualities and for that you need to love yourself. Generally Emo is associated with different negative attitude. They always generate negative definition towards their life and are always characterized with
bitterness.

Always found in a depressing mood. But It does no mean that if you are not associated with qualities you cannot be Emo instead you can be with your sensitive qualities. You must remember that even if you are different from others in every respect you should see everyone equally and avoid glued to one Emo friends. Expand your friend circle and treat everyone with kindness. Such actions will surely distinguish from a Goth. Goth are totally different in their behavior. They have their lifestyle and they are very consistence in sticking to it. They never try to follow others for their own betterment.
